The VSM (Value Stream Mapping) kit comprises of 27 different types of icons printed on magnetic backed rubber vinyl. With over a 100 magnetic icons, links to 3 VSM learning book and a handy carry case, you are ready to embark on your current and future state maps. A barcode included with the pack gives access to images and descriptions of each icon.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a valuable Lean tool for understanding the current or as-is state and for visualizing your future state. It helps identify wastes and define opportunities to make improvements and guides improvements based on a strategically developed plan.
Value stream mapping should be more about implementing the improvements than about the mapping itself. The kit simplifies the mapping process and reduces time spent on drawing the map. It also reduces scope for legibility issues and offers a truly professional look. Current states drawn on whiteboards are erased to sketch a future state, participants are constantly referring to photos of the current state to help design a future state. This kit eliminates the need for this as the icons are also means of recording the information and using as a reference for analysis and developing action plans.
The data box, process box and kaizen burst are made from dry wipe material to allow a dry wipe marker to be used. The kit also comes with a book that offers a step-by-step guide to value stream mapping. The whole kit comes in an efficiently designed, compact and durable case to keep your icons stored safely when not in use.

- What accessories do I need to accompany the VSM kit?
- Magiboards supplies a special VSM accessory pack including thin dry wipe marker pens in red, black, green and blue, a thicker black dry wipe marker pen, a microfibre cloth to clean the board and whiteboard cleaning fluid.
- Can I order additional icons if I need them?
