- What is Dye Sublimation printing?
- Dye sublimation printing is a digital printing technology that uses a process whereby a negative of the image is printed on special transfer paper. The ink is then heated to a gas in a heat transfer press and absorbed into the surface of the magnetic dry wipe whiteboard. The graphics are thus embedded in the whiteboard.
- What are the benefits of Dye sublimation printing over other printing methods?
- One of the biggest benefits is that there are no additional layers, such as a vinyl overlay, on the board. This is very important in hospital environments and also in food manufacturing sites, where it is essential germs and dirt have nowhere to hide. Another benefit is the print is made in the surface of a quality magnetic coated steel whiteboard, which makes it much easier and quicker to keep clean. Fewer smudges & less ghosting.
- Do the Dye sublimation printed whiteboards come with a guarantee?
- Yes, we offer a 10 year surface guarantee on all of our dye sublimation whiteboards. The boards have been on the market for over a decade in high use areas such as hospital theatres and education settings.
- What is the process for ordering a dye sublimation custom printed whiteboard?
- Following discussion with Sales and our Graphic Designer, Mitchell, you will have received a quotation. If you are happy with this, you place your order. Upon receipt, we begin the digital proofing stage: Your design is made to scale and two proofs are sent, with and without dimensions. You can amend the proofs multiple times until you are happy with the final design. Once signed off, your boards move to the production phase.
- What format do I need to send my design in?
- Artwork requirements can be sent using a sketch, a photo, a scan or any estalished format such as Word, Excel, Publisher, InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop. We will work with with whatever you have. We would however need to have any logos at a minimum 300dpi @ 100% full print size either EPS or high-resolution JPG / TIF. Also any Special Images or Maps should be sent in EPS or high resolution CMYK JPG / TIF – 300dpi @100% full print size
- I am planning my board. What are the overall sizes please?
- The sizing chart can be found on the link for Artwork Requirements. The two sizes show the board size, which is the overall size including the frame, and the image size, which is what you will need to work to when looking at your own design.
